M'sia woman, 26, dies after van hits & allegedly drags her for 10m as helpless mum watches on
She had gone out for a meal with her family.
A 26-year-old woman crossing the road in Kuala Lumpur on Sep. 14 died after being struck by a van and reportedly dragged for about 10 metres as her mother watched on.
The fatal accident took place at about 12:30pm, as the woman was crossing Jalan Kuchai Maju 13 in KL, Malaysian media reported.
She was later pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
The accident
The woman was understood to have gone out for a meal with her family on Sep. 14, China Press reported.
Photos and videos reportedly showed the driver driving at a fast speed and failing to brake in time to avoid hitting the woman.
The van reportedly dragged her for about 10 metres.

A crowd of more than 30 people was seen gathering at the scene of the accident.
Another video showed a body lying on the road, covered by a white sheet stained with blood.

Eyewitnesses said they saw a woman, believed to be the victim's mother, breaking down in tears after witnessing the accident, according to China Press.
She was reportedly overcome with grief and had to be helped by friends and family to exit the scene.
Police investigations ongoing
City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said in a statement that the fatal accident occurred about 12:30pm on Sep. 14.
"Initial investigations found that the accident happened when the van driver exited a T-junction and hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the road near the junction," Mohd Zamzuri said, as reported by New Straits Times.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

The van was driven by a 25-year-old man, who was uninjured.
The case is being investigated for reckless and dangerous driving causing death, Mohd Zamzuri said.
