The incident occurred on Sep. 13 at around 4am, CBS News reported.

Cruz Gomez was with friends outside a restaurant when he encountered 16-year-old Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez, her boyfriend, and her mother and her stepfather.

The 38-year-old allegedly began sexually harassing Gomez-Alvarez and her mother, even offering them money in exchange for sex acts.

This escalated into a physical fight between Gomez-Alvarez's boyfriend, stepfather and Cruz Gomez.

The trio were later separated by bystanders.

As the group walked away, Cruz Gomez got into his SUV, which was situated about a block away, and intentionally drove into them on the sidewalk, according to the New York Daily News.

The scene of violence was caught on CCTV footage.

Cruz Gomez's SUV was later seen reversing and speeding away before crashing into a parked car further down the street.
