A Dutch expatriate was found in Khon Kaen, Thailand, with an ATM in his pickup truck on Sep. 21, 2025.
According to Thai media, the 60-year-old man broke into a store that had an ATM.
However, instead of stealing some money, he loaded the entire machine onto his truck.
Police found drag marks from where the ATM had been bolted down to the man's vehicle.
Thanks to CCTV footage, and also perhaps owing to the rarity of an event where a man was found with an ATM, the police quickly found the suspect and made the arrest.
The man had earlier gotten into a quarrel with his Thai wife over financial issues.
Their restaurant had been struggling for a while.
After the fight, the man stormed out of the house.
According to Khaosod, a police source said the wife had no idea what her husband had been planning.
The source said: "She only learned about the ATM theft when we contacted her."
