A video on Threads of an altercation on a train in Taiwan is going viral globally.
The video starts with an elderly woman swinging her bag at a passenger who appears to be sitting in a priority seat.
The passenger appears slightly taken aback before passing their bag off to a fellow passenger.
The elderly woman then strikes at the passenger with her bag again.
Then the kick occurs.
The kick sends her reeling back to the opposite row of seats.
After she recovers and stands up again, the woman repeatedly says she wants to call the police.
The passenger tells the elderly woman she can "try one more time" in both Chinese and English.
The woman is then seen talking to an elderly man who tries to get her to sit down.
She says she wanted to place her items on that seat, to which the passenger replies that she could have driven instead if she wanted her own space.
According to Chinese media, the station manager had boarded the train to deal with the situation. Operations were not affected.
