Taiwan man, 29, arrested after illegally parking his Mercedes before surprise proposal to girlfriend

A Taiwanese man had his surprise proposal scuppered after he illegally parked his Mercedes in the Songshan District, Taiwan.

The incident happened in June, but images of the arrest went viral recently.

The backstory to this, according to local media reports, involved a 29-year-old man, Huang, who had illegally parked his car.

When the police approached him, Huang had reportedly acted quite nervously.

The police then saw what they suspected was a drug-related item in the car, and wanted to inspect it.

The man resisted police inspection and allegedly threatened the officers, following which the police pinned Huang down.

During the incident, the car boot flew open.

The man reportedly confessed to possessing drugs and was arrested by the police.
