Police investigating man, 40, for alleged involvement in murder of woman, 43, at Everitt Road

The police are investigating a 40-year-old man in Singapore for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 43-year-old woman.

In response to Mothership's queries, police said that they received a call for assistance at about 9:30pm on Sep. 15 at a residential unit at Everitt Road.

Man left Singapore before authorities were alerted

Police confirmed that the woman was found lying motionless inside the unit when officers arrived.

She was then pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the police, initial investigations found that the man, known to the woman, had departed Singapore before the request for assistance.

Investigations are ongoing

A neighbour, who requested anonymity, told CNA she saw police officers inside the vacant unit on Sep. 16.

She said the household previously consisted of a couple, a young child and two helpers.

She added that they were not "loud", but "just not very social".

The neighbour noted that the man had seemed "shy and reserved" during their brief interactions, adding that the helpers were also often seen caring for the child.

Police said investigations are still ongoing.
