Man, 23, decapitated after freak accident where car crashed into lorry in Johor
The driver managed to survive.
The car crash
A man, 23, was decapitated in a car crash involving a Honda City colliding with a five-tonne Hino lorry that had been parked by the roadside, reported Sinar Harian.
The fatal incident occurred last night in Kulai, Johor.
Rescue operation
The Kulai Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call around 10:36pm and dispatched eight firefighters to the location, along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Services (EMRS) unit, reported The Malaysia Gazette.
They arrived at the scene — approximately six kilometres away — at 10:43pm.
According to the Operations Commander, the driver of the car, 29, was injured but not trapped. Members of the public had managed to pull him from the vehicle before firefighters arrived.
The passenger, however, was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim had his head decapitated, he told Berita Harian Malaysia.
Firefighters used specialised equipment to extricate the victim’s body from the wreckage. The remains were then handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the police for further action.
“The operation was successfully brought under control at 11:10pm and ended completely at 11:20pm.”
