Singaporean influencer, Genie Yamaguchi, 30, will be required to wear an electronic tag and observe a nightly curfew from 10pm to 6am every day, as part of her sentence for shop theft.

She was also issued a Day Reporting Order (DRO) for three months in court on Sep. 23, The Straits Times reported.

A DRO is a type of community-based sentence that requires the offender to report to a day reporting centre for monitoring, counselling and rehabilitation programmes.

Stole over S$600 worth of products from Don Don Donki

Yamaguchi previously pleaded guilty to stealing S$628.90 worth of products from Don Don Donki supermarket at Orchard Central on Aug. 25 2024.

She, along with her friend, Lee Suet Keay, Cheryl, stole a total of 27 items, a majority of which were makeup and skincare products.

Prosecutors previously requested an assessment for a DRO, after noting that Yamaguchi had no prior criminal record.

Her lawyer had agreed, telling the court that Yamaguchi had already compensated Don Don Donki for the stolen items.
