Elderly woman was believed to have been hit while cycling across the road

A man in his 30s named Chen said that although he did not witness the incident, he believed the elderly woman was hit by a lorry while cycling across the road, according to Shin Min.

Chen said that when the incident occurred, many people were waiting to cross the road and rushed forward to help the elderly woman.

He said she appeared unconscious and showed little to no response when others called out to her.

The lorry driver also exited the vehicle to check what happened, and tried to call his company.

A video provided by Chen also showed a woman in white clothes and grey hair lying on the road with a head injury and blood coming out of her nose.

The woman was believed to have been by herself.

When Shin Min reporters arrived at the scene, the woman had already been taken to the hospital.

The front of the lorry reportedly had a dent.

The driver apparently told reporters that he had braked too late and hit the woman.
