A woman in Fujian, surnamed Qin, found herself in the stuff of nightmares on Sep. 13.

Qin had fallen into an abandoned well that was hidden by foliage.

To make matters worse, the well apparently had several snakes and mosquitoes.

The woman was repeatedly stung and bitten as she held tightly onto the walls of the well.

According to Chinese media, her family was desperately searching for her, but the search took some time even after police had reviewed surveillance footage.

On Qin's part, she would later say her strength in holding on that long was because she had family members who depended on her.

She said she felt desperate in the cold water, her shouts had not reached anyone, and the snakes were slithering all over her.

Qin said the thoughts of her children, husband and elderly parents kept her going.

"If I give up, I will sink."

After over 50 hours, she heard the sound of rescuers calling out for her. She called back and was eventually rescued from the nightmare.
