Vietnam man in Penang arrested after threatening baby with knife during alleged robbery
He was subdued by multiple people.
A Vietnamese man in the town of Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia was arrested on Aug. 9 after allegedly attempting to rob a supermarket and threatening a 11-month old baby with a knife.
Video footage of the incident showed the man struggling with several members of the public at the supermarket before attempting to snatch a baby from a woman at one point.
Other members of the public were able to pull him away however, and he was eventually subdued by multiple men.

Malaysian police: Also threatened the baby with a knife
According to the district police chief, the supermarket's supervisor saw the man attempting to escape from the premises without paying for several seafood items, Malaysian media reported.
He caught the man but the suspect was able to escape.
The police chief added that the suspect then grabbed the baby and brandished a knife at the public, including the child.
He was subdued with the help of supermarket staff and several members of the public before being handed over to the police who had been alerted by customers.
The police chief added that the case is being investigated for theft in a building, causing injury and criminal intimidation.
