The bridge will be built to international sea-crossing standards with four lanes.

It is slated for completion by the end of 2028, according to VN Express.

Authorities hope the bridge's completion will help improve tourism in the province by making the area more accessible.

At 18 km, the bridge will be the third-longest in Southeast Asia, according to the Southeast Asia Iron and Steel Institute.

The current title of the longest bridge in Southeast Asia goes to Brunei's Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge at 30 km.
