Kim Jong Un will visit China & attend Victory over Japan parade on Sep. 3
The parade commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of the war.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will attend a military parade in Beijing, China on Sep. 3, Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei said on Thursday (Aug. 28), Chinese state media Xinhua reported.
Kim's travel to China is at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean media Yonhap reported.
The "Victory over Japan Day", known as "V-J Day", is observed on Sep. 3 in China, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the war.
During his visit, Kim will be participating in the celebrations of China's 80th anniversary marking the end of World War II.
According to BBC, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be among the 26 state leaders expected to attend the event.
