Responding to queries from Mothership, Vincent Gay, Deputy Managing Director of SMRT Buses, confirmed that bus service 190 broke down at around 6:30pm on Aug. 19.
The breakdown occurred along the PIE, near the Adam Road exit.
"Our bus captain followed the standard operating protocol of ensuring that passengers remained safely onboard the bus until the replacement bus arrived," SMRT said.
All affected passengers were transferred to another bus at about 6:48pm, 18 minutes after the breakdown, contrary to what the Reddit user claimed.
"We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of all affected passengers," Gay said.
