Japanese boy, 15, arrested after allegedly stabbing father, 48, to death when family was away
The boy's father had multiple stab wounds to his neck and abdomen.
On Aug. 14, police in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, arrested a 15-year-old junior high school boy for allegedly killing his 48-year-old father.
Went to the police station to confess
Citing local television network TBS, local media outlet Japan Today stated that the boy had gone to a police station in front of Japan Railways (JR) Kiryu Station at around 10pm on Aug. 14 and confessed that he had killed his father.
According to local police, the boy admitted to stabbing his father multiple times at their home the day before on Aug. 13.
The police immediately rushed to the boy's home where they found his father's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, Sin Chew Daily reported, citing Japanese media outlets.
The boy's father had multiple stab wounds to his neck and abdomen.
Investigations are ongoing
According to Japan Today, the police revealed that the boy lived with his parents and younger sister.
His mother and sister were away visiting family outside the prefecture at the time of the incident, leaving the boy and his father alone at home.
The boy has since been arrested and investigations are currently ongoing.
The police added that the boy has yet to give a reason for killing his father.
