SAF regular serviceman dies on Aug. 9 after being found unconscious at Hendon Camp swimming pool
According to Mindef, he appeared to have been training on his own.
At 7:15am on Aug. 9, 2025, a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular was found unconscious at Hendon Camp swimming pool.
He appeared to have been training on his own, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a statement.
CPR and AED were administered immediately.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were activated, and the serviceman was evacuated to Changi General Hospital via an SCDF ambulance.
According to Mindef, resuscitation continued on route and upon arrival at the hospital.
Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at 7:44am.
"The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman," said Mindef.
"We are also rendering assistance to the family during this time of grief."
