The map can be accessed from 5pm to 10:30pm on Aug. 9, and will also be displayed on TV screens at selected MRT stations.
Some MRT stations expected to be crowded
MRT stations including Bayfront, City Hall, Esplanade and Raffles Place are expected to be very crowded on Aug. 9, said the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in a news release.
Members of the public are encouraged to use other nearby MRT stations, such as Promenade, Downtown and Marina Bay.
Certain entrances and/ or exits of MRT stations around the Marina Bay will also be closed to regulate crowd flow.
Trains may bypass affected stations, such as Bayfront MRT station, to divert crowd away from these areas in the event of overcrowding.
Crowd flow to be regulated
Police officers, SAF personnel and auxiliary police officers will be regulating the flow of crowd at areas such as the Esplanade Waterfront, Jubilee Bridge, Merlion Park, One Fullerton Waterfront, Marina Boulevard Promenade, Marina Bay Sands Waterfront and Helix Bridge.
Crowds dispersal is expected to be slow around the Padang and in the Marina Bay vicinity after the parade has ended. The SPF advises members of the public to be patient and to follow the directions of the marshals and the police on the ground.
To navigate walking routes and closure areas between 7pm to 10:30pm, members of the public can also use the OneMap mobile application.
