Man, 38, dies after motorcycle & lorry accident along CTE, family appealing for witnesses
Police investigations are ongoing.
A motorcyclist lost his life following an accident with a lorry on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards Seletar Expressway (SLE) near Yio Chu Kang Road exit.
The police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the accident on Jul. 17, 2025, at about 8:45am.
The 38-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away, the police added.
A 50-year-old male lorry driver is assisting with investigations.
Appeal for witnesses
Following the incident, the man's sister took to Facebook to appeal for witnesses to the accident.
"My beloved brother, Ng Sir Kiat, was involved in this tragic accident and has sadly passed away," she wrote.
She wrote that the lorry driver claimed he had been driving slowly and only felt an impact at the rear left side of his vehicle while in lane five.
However, on the final night of Ng’s wake, the family received a message from a witness who shared a different account.
The witness said he had apparently seen the lorry veer into Ng’s lane, which allegedly caused Ng to brake abruptly and fall.
Her post also urged anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward and contact her.
She also expressed gratitude to those who have offered support.
