S'pore police arrest man, 39, for allegedly breaking into food court & coffee shop & stealing S$3,342
The food court is at Choa Chu Kang, while the coffee shop is at Gangsa Road.
The police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of housebreaking and theft, the police said in a Jul. 23 news release.
On Jun. 23, at about 2:40pm, the police were alerted to a case of housebreaking and theft at a food court along Choa Chu Kang Street 51 where cash amounting to S$2,542 was purportedly stolen.
In the second case, on Jul. 17 at about 8am, the police were alerted to a case of housebreaking and theft at a coffee shop along Gangsa Road, where cash amounting to S$800 was purportedly stolen.
The identity of the man was established through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras and surveillance cameras.
He was arrested on Jul. 22.
He allegedly wore a black jacket and used wrenches during the break-ins.
The man will be charged in court on Jul. 24 with the offence of housebreaking and theft.
The offence carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine.
