Grab delivery rider gives cat CPR after Bangkok condo fire, saves it
Not all heroes wear capes.
A Grab delivery rider in Bangkok has won praise after he responded to a fire at a condominium unit and helped firefighters save the life of a cat.
The man carried the lifeless cat down the stairs, and performed cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the animal downstairs, reviving it, according to Thai media.
Saved cat from fire in condominium unit
According to videos shared to social media, the fire apparently broke out on Jul. 21 at a second-floor unit of a condominium in the Nonthaburi area of Bangkok.
The owner was believed to have been away on business at the time.
The rider, a volunteer firefighter, risked his life to enter the room and save the cat, Thai broadcaster Channel 9 MCOT reported.

Accompanied by regular firefighters, the man was seen carrying the cat down the stairs before placing it in an empty car park lot to perform CPR on it.

After some time, a pulse was found, according to the video's subtitles.
Firefighters also brought over an oxygen tank and breathing apparatus for the cat.
Later, the man was seen following behind a firefighter on a motorcycle to transport the cat to a veterinary clinic.

A user, claiming to be the rider, commented on one of the clips, saying in Thai, "I am the rider. The little one has reached the doctor and is safe."

He also reposted a clip of the incident to his page, and in its caption, wrote, "Every second is precious to me. Life must be saved first, whether it's humans or animals."
