Fadzri Rashid to perform new 'no-holds-barred' comedy show at Esplanade on Aug. 2, 2025
The stand-up comic tells Mothership why he decided to leave Singapore for Malaysia.
Stand-up comic Fadzri Rashid will be bringing a new show to the Esplanade on Aug. 2, 2025.
Titled "Still Got Jokes", the set promises fresh material and a "no-holds-barred" approach.
"Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride of wild stories, brutal honesty, and laugh-out-loud moments that will have you talking long after the show ends," read a press release.
The comedian formerly known as Fakkah Fuzz released a new comedy special earlier this year in February on YouTube.
He has since moved to Malaysia, a change prompted by — among other considerations — his desire to grow as a performer.
Mothership caught up with the Fadzri to find out how the move has been, as well as quiz him over what audiences can expect from his Aug. 2 show.
It’s coming up to a year since you decided to shed your stage name for your real one — a year on has anything changed for you? Has you gotten any feedback on the new (real) name?
Fadzri Rashid: Yeah, most people take a lot of time to get used to the change and a lot of them still call me by my old stage name which I guess is understandable.
I didn't think it would take this long though considering my real name is far less suggestive than the old stage name. But for some weird reason alot of people are comfortable enough to still call me Fakkah Fuzz.
I suppose it takes more time for people to realize I properly don't go by that now.

You recently mentioned that you’ve moved to Kuala Lumpur. What motivated that move? And how are you taking to life across the Causeway?
FR: Well, a lot of factors. Mainly cost and quality of life.
As much as Singapore is home and most of my career has been spent building a name here, I feel that at some point, a move out of this place is inevitable for growth. And honestly, it's all about leaving your safe and secure environment to test yourself on what you can achieve within your capabilities.
I think more Singaporeans have realised that, and that's why we see more of a trend of people moving.
As much as I love my friends and family here, I always feel like there's more to be achieved if I had a more global point of view. And the only way to achieve that is to move.
Say real, which country has better food?
FR: This one need to say one meh?
Malaysians and Singaporeans fight about which one of the same dishes taste better or originate from us while Indonesia watches from afar and be like "you know this is all ours right?"
How do audiences in Singapore compare to audiences closer to home in Malaysia?
FR: Well, I mentioned earlier that a home advantage always feels good. But in this case Malaysia feels like a home advantage as well because to be honest, we're not that different as people. Maybe separated by a border but cultures and languages are the same (presently😂).
But I would say that because of Singapore being an international hub you do get a lot of audience members from all across the globe. A more international audience at times compared to Malaysia.

You’re back with a new show in Aug. 2 titled “Still got jokes”. What inspired the name of the show?
FR: Fear of poverty. 😂
Well, I've released two specials in a span of two years which honestly is a lot of work for a stand-up comedian.
One would think that after churning all that material I'd run dry and not have anything left to talk about. Well, this show proves otherwise.
I like to give people an escape from their lives as they go on a trip with me and laugh about the state of our lives. Cause it's mostly shitty with some highlights we put on IG.
I'm just here to say that there's still jokes and I wanna share it with you guys. For the price of a ticket. 😂
What can people expect at the Aug. 2 show? Anything recently that you’ve been musing about that is now fodder for your comedic material?
FR: This approach is more real and composed compared to what you guys are used to seeing me doing.
A lot of my previous shows on Netflix was me being very high energy but this time I'm confident to say that you can see the experience through the performance.
