Crashed in front of police car

A Mothership reader who resides nearby said they heard a loud crash before looking out of the window.

That was when they saw a black car had come to a stop in the middle of the junction.

Debris was seen on the road in front of the car.

It appeared to have been turning left before the crash.

"Somehow there was a police vehicle right ahead. The officers switched on their sirens and drove over to control traffic at the scene," said the reader.

The male driver was seen getting out of the car to inspect the damage.

He then helped a female passenger out of the car with the assistance of the police officers, and supported her to the road kerb, said the reader.

Police officers were seen speaking to the driver and conducting checks before traffic police and a tow truck arrived at the scene, the reader added.

The bus involved in the accident was not seen at the scene.

Police told Mothership that no injuries were reported.

Police investigations are ongoing.
