S'pore actor Zhang Yaodong says he's grateful for support for his food stall in Tampines industrial area
He just launched his TikTok account.

After he was spotted at a food stall in the Tampines industrial area, Singapore actor Zhang Yaodong expressed his gratitude to his supporters and customers.
On Jun. 4, the 47-year-old was seen manning a steamed seafood food stall, JB101 Traditional Steamed Treasures at Block 9012 Tampines Street 93.
According to the Tampines Small and Medium Enterprise Association's Facebook page, the stall serves traditional steamed dishes like steamed eggs, fish, and prawns.
The actor was manning the cash register and taking orders from customers.
TikTok video expressing thanks
In his first TikTok video, Zhang thanked all those on social media for the words of encouragement.
The video has been watched more than 204,000 times in a day.
@zhangyaodong12 A new beginning. Thank you for being part of it. That day at the stall was a wake-up call. Your kindness gave me strength to reflect and figure out my next steps. A heartfelt thank you to my friend Catherine, who offered her support selflessly and helped me take the first step forward. The road ahead is mine to walk — and it’s a path I’ve chosen for myself. I’ll be sharing this journey with you.
He added that he was very thankful and grateful for all the support he has received, especially after the news reports on his appearance at the stall went out.
Zhang explained that the stall has not been extensively advertised and promoted, as he still wanted to improve the food and dishes sold.
"That day at the stall was a wake-up call. Your kindness gave me strength to reflect and figure out my next steps... I'll be sharing this journey with you," he shared in the caption.
Spotted by the public
His appearance at the food stall was noted by a member of the public, who posted about it on Xiaohongshu.
The post read: "The food stall I eat at every afternoon is actually opened by him. Because his employees resigned, I saw him coming to help."
The post added that Zhang looked "better in person" and mentioned that he spoke politely.
The person who took the photo also wrote: "In fact, it is a great virtue to admit one's mistakes and correct them."
Zhang was previously in the spotlight after he allegedly fathered a number of children with different women in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.
He has since kept a low profile and did not respond to media queries.
Mediacorp's talent management agency The Celebrity Agency, which he was signed to, distanced itself from Zhang in February, stating that he was no longer an artiste under its management and that he has not participated in the filming of any new shows.
