Driver in recent road rage incident in Johor also allegedly involved in 2023 road rage incident
He has been remanded until Jun. 12 to assist with investigations.
A Singaporean driver who was arrested in Malaysia after a road rage incident in Johor on Jun. 7 was also allegedly involved in another road rage incident in 2023.
The recent case came to light when a Facebook user by the name of Vicky Sing uploaded a video of the incident on Jun. 7, 2025, involving the driver of a Singapore-registered Toyota Altis.
On Jun. 9, Sing shared a post dated Oct. 6, 2023, by another Facebook user Tok Zhi Wei regarding a road rage incident he encountered.
Photos and videos attached showed the driver of the same Singapore-registered Toyota Altis kicking another car.
2023 incident
According to Tok, the man "kicked a hole" in his car while at a road block in Malaysia.
A video showed the man coming out of his car and running to kick Tok's car.
He appeared to be exclaiming angrily as well.
2025 incident
The confrontation took place along Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/4 at Taman Sutera Utama in Skudai, Johor.
Sing shared that she had been travelling with her boyfriend, who was commandeering the car at the time.
The video shows the driver kicking the car Sing was in.
Sing also uploaded a photograph of the resultant dent.
The couple later made a police report at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Police Station.
On Jun. 9, Sing also shared that she was quoted 9,300 ringgit (S$2,822) for fixing the damage on her boyfriend's car.
Arrested
According to a Facebook post by the Malaysia police, they received the police report around 3pm on Jun. 7.
The 40-year-old Singaporean driver was arrested on Jun. 8 at about 6:20pm.
The man was caught in the Johor Bahru area, and several items were seized.
Checks revealed that he has no criminal record, and the urine screening test was negative.
The man is being investigated for committing mischief and using words or gestures intended to insult the modesty of a person.
He has been remanded until Jun. 12 to assist with investigations.
