Former actor Ian Fang has deleted his Instagram account.

Fang was sentenced to 40 months' jail in court on May 19, after pleading guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old girl back in 2024.

Eagle-eyed reporters from Lianhe Zaobao noticed on the morning of May 19 that Fang's Instagram account had vanished.

Deleted Instagram page

Fang's Instagram account had 189,000 followers and 173 posts, according to Google.

However, it was taken down as of 11:40am on May 19, Lianhe Zaobao reported.

Fang reportedly last updated his Instagram about three weeks ago with a photo of a clothing endorsement.

Fang's Facebook page is still up as of May 19, although it has been purged of all his photos, save for a profile picture.

He had continued updating his pages even after he was charged in court on Jan. 24.

Fang's identity was previously protected by a gag order.

His identity was only unmasked on May 19, at his sentencing.

Background of the offences

Fang was 34 when he met the victim at an entertainment event in May 2024.

At the time of the offences, Fang was an acting teacher with a child modelling school with students aged four to 14, CNA reported.

Court documents indicated that they exchanged contact details and proceeded to converse daily.

Fang had sex with the teen on nine occasions between June and July 2024, including at the Marina Bay Sands hotel, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, and his home.

The prosecution said he had unprotected sex with the teen five times.

He used a condom on two occasions in July 2024 only when she insisted.

The girl later saw a doctor when her genitals started to hurt.

She was diagnosed with the human papillomavirus, a sexually transmitted infection, 8world reported.

The girl’s mother found out that Fang had been having sex with the girl and made a police report sometime in August 2024.

Even though Fang was instructed not to contact the victim, he kept asking her to get her mother to withdraw the charges.

He also told her that he would commit suicide if he were sentenced to jail.

The girl developed depression and had suicidal thoughts, and was later admitted to the Institute of Mental Health with adjustment disorder.

On May 19, Fang's identity was unmasked after the judge lifted the gag order on his identity.

Fang was sentenced to 40 months' jail for sexual offences with a minor.

He will begin serving his sentence on Jun. 16.
