Cyclist in Tampines allegedly collides with dog & flees, dog sustains shattered jaw & teeth extractions
Oh no :(
A dog was allegedly knocked over by a speeding cyclist in Tampines and fled the scene, leaving the pup bleeding from the mouth with a fractured jaw.
Taking to the Facebook group Dogs Singapore, Wendy Ong shared that her helper took their pup for a walk on May 19 from around 8:00 to 8:15am at a small park under Blk 874B in Tampines.
As the helper bent down to clean up the dog's poop, Ong said that a speeding cyclist "came out of nowhere" and slammed into the pup from behind.
The impact left the dog bleeding in the mouth and knocked out its front teeth.
"The worst part? The cyclist did stop for a second.. but the moment he saw my poor dog bleeding from the mouth, he fled the scene without a word," she claimed.
The pup was immediately brought to a vet, where an X-ray confirmed that its jaw was shattered and multiple front teeth needed to be extracted.

Ong added that the bill came up to S$1,250, and attached a photo of it.
"I'm devastated. My dog is in so much pain — and all because of an irresponsible, heartless cyclist who didn't even have the decency to stay and take accountability.
Please — if you cycle, slow down near pedestrians and pets. One reckless moment can destroy a life."

In the comments, Ong explained that her helper was unable to obtain any details other than that it was an "uncle" riding the bike.
She added that her helper was in shock and was still new to Singapore.
In addition, Ong said she had not made a report to the authorities as of May 19.
