A rider on a power-assisted bicycle (PAB) was thrown off his device after colliding with a car at the junction of Punggol Drive and Punggol East.

Dashcam footage was uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook group, which showed the rider going straight while on a right-turn only lane.

The car that was hit was turning right in a shared straight-through and right-turn lane.

In response to queries from Mothership, the police said it was alerted to the accident on May 11 at around 10:55pm.

The 40-year-old male PAB rider was conveyed conscious to Sengkang General Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Police investigations are ongoing.

In the video, the e-bike rider appeared to be travelling at high speed as he rode straight on a right-turn only lane.

The car, which had signalled its intention to turn right, was completing its turn when the collision occurred.

As the rider appeared to have tried to avoid hitting the car, but ultimately crashed into it.

He was thrown off the e-bike.

The e-bike could be seen moving onto the pedestrian walkway, but there was no one there at the time.

The e-bike he was riding resembled a type of PAB commonly referred to as an "SUV e-bike," known for its wider tyres and higher seat.

In Singapore, there is a 25km/h speed limit for e-bikes on roads.

By law, the motor power of such devices must be progressively reduced and finally cut off as the bicycle reaches 25kmh, or sooner, if the cyclist stops pedalling.

Moreover, the motor power of the PAB can only cut in when the rider starts to pedal.

In the video, the rider did not appear to be pedalling before the accident.
