Woodleigh, Pasir Ris bus interchanges to open in April, will have baby care rooms & air-con

The new Woodleigh and Pasir Ris bus interchanges will open in Apr. 20 and 27 respectively.

This will bring the total number of integrated transport hubs in Singapore to 14, said the Land Transport Authority in an Apr. 3 statement.

Woodleigh Bus Interchange will be operated by SBS Transit, while Pasir Ris Bus Interchange will be operated by Go-Ahead Singapore.

Woodleigh Bus Interchange

The Woodleigh interchange will be directly connected to Woodleigh MRT station.

The existing 146 service will be amended to operate from the new interchange and serve four additional bus stops.

Meanwhile, a new 148 service will be introduced, serving as a loop between the bus interchange and Potong Pasir.

This will enhance connectivity to amenities like Woodleigh Mall, Woodleigh Hawker Centre, Bidadari Community Club, and Maris Stella High School.

Originally slated for completion in 2019, the Woodleigh bus interchange was plagued by delays due to "significant engineering challenges" and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pasir Ris Bus Interchange

Meanwhile, the Pasir Ris interchange will be located in an integrated development with Pasir Ris Mall, adjacent to Pasir Ris MRT station.

There will be no route changes or new services.

The existing shuttle bus for Singapore Armed Forces servicemen travelling to and from the SAF Ferry Terminal will also be relocated adjacent to the new interchange.

Other features

Both interchanges will boast amenities like barrier-free access, wheelchair-accessible toilets, and baby care rooms.

They will also have commuter care room, meant for members of the public who may require a "quiet and calming space", LTA said.

The interchange will also have sustainable features like energy-efficient air-conditioning, water-saving taps, and motion-sensor lights.
