Runner dies at S'pore 2XU Compression Run
The incident is currently under police investigation.
A runner who participated in the 2XU Compression Run in Singapore has passed away.
According to an Instagram post, the runner was part of the run that took place in the morning of Apr. 27.
The post wrote:
"We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of one of our participants at this morning's 2XU Compression Sun.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends during this difficult time."
The run's organiser added that the matter is currently under police investigation and that they are unable to share further details.
The run, which began at the F1 Pit Building, had three race categories: 5km, 10km and 21.1km.
According to The Straits Times, a 45-year-old runner in 2014 collapsed during the 2XU Compression Run marathon and later died in the hospital.
