SMRT trains on the North-South Line towards Jurong East experienced delays on Apr. 16 at around 11:25am.

This was after a platform screen door at Braddell MRT station fell onto the tracks at around 11:15am, which caused delays.

SMRT initially attributed the delays to a track fault, cautioning commuters to add 15 minutes to their travel time from Toa Payoh to Bishan heading towards Jurong East.

In an update on Apr. 16 at 12:22pm, SMRT explained that a platform screen door had fallen off.

As a precaution, the affected area was cordoned off, and the traction power was turned off to facilitate recovery efforts.

SMRT staff and engineers worked on-site to restore regular train service.

Train services continued to operate in both directions, but commuters were advised to add 15 minutes to their travel time as shuttle train services operated between Bishan and Toa Payoh.

By 12:45pm, normal train services had resumed.
