Not to be confused with the Beach Road Scissors-Cut Curry Rice chain, the Geylang shop has been a popular supper spot in the area, serving customers with no-frills curry rice for 30 years.
On Apr. 14, the shop announced the impending closure on its Facebook.
It said that it made the "difficult decision" to wind down the business, citing "a number of challenges" as the reason.
"We are incredibly grateful for your loyalty and support over the past three decades. It has truly been an honour to serve you. Thank you for being a part of our journey," the stall wrote.
The stall added in an update on Apr. 29 that it did not have a successor to take over the business.
Poor business, high rental
An F&B business owner who patronised the shop recently said the shop's owner told him that their business had dropped by 50 per cent since 2024, so it was difficult to continue operating.
The shop opens from 9:30am to 3am daily.
A typical plate of curry rice, consisting of fried pork chop, cabbage and an egg drenched in curry gravy, is priced at S$4.80.

No plans to reopen elsewhere
A shop employee told Mothership that his boss has decided to close shop due to poor business and high rental, among other reasons.
There are no plans to reopen the curry rice shop elsewhere, he added.
