2 men, aged 22 & 27, arrested for allegedly tying up & robbing woman, 38, of S$2,000 cash & phones in Jalan Besar
Both will be charged with the offence of robbery with hurt on Apr. 28.
Two men, aged 22 and 27, were arrested for allegedly assaulting a 38-year-old woman along Jalan Besar on Apr. 26 night.
The duo were also accused of tying up the victim and robbing her of two mobile phones, a wallet, a gold chain, a pair of gold earrings, and cash amounting to S$2,000.
Both men will be charged in court with the offence of robbery with hurt on Apr. 28, said the police in an Apr. 27 news release.
The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years, and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
Men arrested within 4 hours after report was lodged
According to a news release, the police were alerted to the case at around 9pm on Saturday.
After committing their alleged offence, the duo fled the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the duo.
They were arrested within four hours of the report.
All the items belonging to the victim were recovered.
