A teenager's experience upon collecting his national examination results has tugged the heartstrings of many Malaysians.

Muhammad Faiz Qudry Ridzuan, 18, penned his thoughts after receiving his SPM results, the equivalent of the O-Level exams in Singapore.

In a TikTok post, the teenager shared that he went straight to his parents' and younger sibling's graves as he wanted to share this milestone with them.

Addressing his late family, he wrote: "I wanted to let all of you know that I achieved 5As. The atmosphere [at school] just isn't as joyful. I love all of you. Thank you for taking care of me."

Despite his "average" results, Faiz said he has proven that he could do it.

He has also committed to trying to be the best even when he has "no one" around him.

"I hope my achievements will make you proud. I will try to be a good son who is brave enough to go through life's challenges.

I never got to experience going up on stage with my parents, but it's ok, that's my fate. What can I do, even if I complain, it won't change anything."

Faiz also made a promise to his parents to work hard so he can be the very best.

Faiz's received a lot of support on his post, with some saying it has touched their hearts.

"[...] May you always be successful [...]"
"[...] May success find you. Continue to be a good person, yeah."

Lost all family

According to a Harian Metro report, Faiz lost his parents and younger brother almost a decade ago.

His father passed on due to a lung infection in 2014.

Two years later, his mother and brother passed on due to pneumonia and asthma complications.
