Two men came to blows on the ground floor of Hougang Mall on Apr. 25.

The incident was caught on camera.

What video showed

The video showed a man in pink, believed to be a food delivery rider, tussling with a man in grey.

The man in pink, who appeared younger, punched the man in grey in the face, which sent the older man sprawling on the ground.

The man in grey managed to get up and pushed the man in pink.

An extended clip of the altercation showed the man in grey confronting the man in pink, but got pushed into a hoarding by the escalator.

The man in grey got punched another time in the face, but returned two punches that landed.

Believed to have bumped into each other

Shin Min Daily News reported that a shop assistant said the two men were believed to have bumped into each other on the escalator leading to the second floor.

As one escalator was under maintenance, the other was not moving but accessible.

The older man in grey apparently asked, "Why did you push me?"

Police officers arrived at the scene after the pair fought for a few minutes.

The police said they received a call for assistance at 90 Hougang Avenue 10, which is the address of Hougang Mall, at about 1:10pm.

A 64-year-old man was conveyed conscious to Sengkang General Hospital.

The 35-year-old man suffered injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital.

Both men were arrested for affray.

Police investigations are ongoing.
