American fast food chain Carl's Jr will be permanently closing its Marina Square outlet — its first in Singapore — after 20 years.
The outlet's last business day will be on Apr. 13, 2025.
The announcement of its closure was made on Apr. 3 on the chain's Facebook page.
The chain thanked customers for their support over the years, adding, "It's been a pleasure serving you, and we look forward to welcoming you at our other locations".
There are three remaining Carl's Jr outlets in Singapore at The Star Vista, SingPost Centre, and King Albert Park.
This closure comes just months after Carl's Jr's Jurong Point outlet closed down on Sep. 5, 2024.
First Carl's Jr outlet in S'pore
American burger chain Carl's Jr, founded in California in 1941, opened its first outlet in Singapore at Marina Square in 2005.
An article by The Straits Times indicated that the Marina Square outlet opened on Jun. 23, 2005 to some fanfare.

In its heyday, Carl's Jr was one of the anchor tenants of Vivocity when the mall opened in 2006, and also boasted a drive-through at East Coast Park.
