Bus stop next to Bedok Stadium to be closed from 9:30pm-10:30pm on Apr. 29 due to Workers' Party rally

The bus stop next to Bedok Stadium along New Upper Changi Road will be closed from 9:30pm to 10:30pm to ensure public safety and facilitate crowd dispersal from the general election rally site, the police said in an advisory on Apr. 29.

The rally venues are expected to be crowded with a capacity limit, and attendees are advised to arrive early and follow the instructions of the ushers, marshals and police officers deployed on site, the advisory added.

Rallies will be held at five venues in total on Tuesday night, including Beacon Primary School, Yio Chu Kang Stadium, Bedok Stadium, School of Science and Technology, Singapore, and Yishun Stadium.

They will last from 7pm to 10pm.

What to expect

Attendees are strongly encouraged to take public transport.

Motorists should be prepared for traffic diversions, lane closures and expect slower traffic in general.

The pick-up and drop-off points for ride-hailing services and operators may be affected by traffic diversions and lane closures.

Users of ride-hailing services should take note of any changes through the services’ apps.

Car parks in the vicinity of the election meeting sites will be restricted to season parking holders only.

Vehicles found illegally parked and/ or causing obstruction may be towed away.

Security checks in and around the election meeting sites may be conducted.

The public is advised not to bring large bags or any dangerous items.
