A&W outlet in AMK Hub closes down

The A&W outlet in AMK Hub has closed down as of Apr. 21.

It was the fast food chain's second outlet in Singapore, after making a comeback in 2019.

Its opening at the time was touted as a homecoming of sorts as the previous A&W outlet operated in Ang Mo Kio central.

In response to Mothership's queries, a mall spokesperson confirmed that the A&W outlet, located at basement one, had its last day of operations on Apr. 20, 2025.

The spokesperson declined to comment on the reasons for the closure or future plans for the space.

On Google, the AMK Hub outlet is listed as permanently closed.

A&W currently has eight outlets in Singapore, including its flagship outlet at Jewel Changi Airport, according to its website.

A&W's 2nd outlet after comeback

Singapore's original A&W outlet was in Ang Mo Kio.

In 2003, A&W left the Singapore market.

Subsequently, A&W reopened in Jewel Changi Airport in April 2019, after a 16-year hiatus.

On National Day, Aug. 9, 2019, A&W's second comeback outlet opened in AMK Hub to some fanfare and snaking queues.

The AMK Hub outlet seated close to 140 diners and was open from 10am to 10pm.
