S’pore shuttler Yeo Jia Min wins German Open, 1st title since 2019
Loh Kean Yew comes in second in the male’s single tournament.
Singapore shuttler Yeo Jia Min has clinched her first Badminton World Federation (BWF) title since August 2019.
At the 2025 German Open on Mar. 2, Yeo defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Thuy Linh 21-16, 21-17 in 41 minutes to secure her victory.
This is the world number 13's second BWF World Tour title.
The last time Yeo won a BWF World Tour title was in 2019, during the Super 100 Hyderabad Open.
Loh Kean Yew misses victory
In the male’s single tournament at the German Open, Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew once again faced two-time Olympic gold medalist Viktor Axelsen.
This was Loh’s first BWF World Tour final in nearly a year.
While Loh put on a fight in both games, he narrowly lost 21-19, 21-18 in a 54 minutes bout.
Loh previously faced Axelsen in the 2024 Olympic quarter finals and lost to the Danish 21-9, 21-17.
