Police in China detain 2 male youths, both 17, for allegedly peeing into Haidilao hotpot in Shanghai

Two male youths have been detained by police in China after allegedly peeing into a hotpot at a Haidilao restaurant in Shanghai.
The Huangpu district police posted a statement on Weibo stating that they were notified on Mar. 6 of a video showing individuals purportedly peeing into a hotpot.
Through police investigations, it was revealed that the two patrons were 17-year-old teenagers named Tang and Wu.
They had entered Haidilao at midnight on Feb. 24.
"After getting intoxicated, both of them climbed on top of the table and peed into the hotpot," said the police.
Wu then took a video of the incident and uploaded it online.
"The police have put them under administrative detention in accordance with the law."

Legal action
According to the Hong Kong news outlet Sing Tao Daily, Haidilao confirmed that they have reported the incident to the relevant authorities and would fully cooperate with the investigation.
The company pledged to assist the authorities, including providing surveillance footage if available.

A screengrab showing the company’s social media account's response to the video emphasised that Haidilao would pursue legal action against those responsible, regardless of whether the act was staged or real.
Stream of liquid
The video showed a man in black pants standing on top of a table and appearing to urinate into a hotpot.
Used plates and utensils were scattered across the table, while laughter could be heard in the background.
Then, the stream of liquid stopped, and the man adjusted his pants.
