S'porean babies born in 2025 to get special SG60 gift of trolley case, toys & plushie

Attention all Singaporean couples: you technically have till April to 'get to work', if you haven't already.

That is because babies born in 2025, which marks the 60th year of Singapore's independence, will be receiving a special SG60 Baby Gift.

The gift comprises ten "specially curated, commemorative and useful" items, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Indranee Rajah announced in parliament on Feb. 28, 2025, adding:

"We hope parents will find the gift meaningful and useful – to inspire their child in discovering the world around them, and to support parents in nurturing and caring for their child."

Indranee teased back in November 2024 that such a gift was in the works for SG60 babies:

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong also mentioned the gift during his Budget speech on Feb. 18, 2025.

What is the gift?

The gift will come in a "specially designed trolley bag" which can double up as a travel case for the baby, Indranee said:

The 10 goodies are sourced from local brands or companies.

They include storybooks by local authors featuring Becky Bunny, mascot for the Families for Life movement, as well as a Becky Bunny plushie:

There will also be practical items like a straw cup set from local brand, Hegen, with an adaptor cap for babies:

Additionally, there will be play items for the baby's growth and development, as well as items for parents "to mark their precious moments with their little ones", Indranee explained:

Other items in the gift set include a food bib, a photo book, a parenting journal and a backpack:

Oh, and each gift set will come with a congratulatory letter from PM Wong:

Indranee added that students from LASALLE College of the Arts designed the artwork on the gift items.

How do you get the gift?

All Singapore Citizen babies born between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2025 will be eligible for the SG60 Baby Gift.

You will be able to register online for the gift here.

Registration opens on Feb. 28, 2025, and closes on Feb. 28, 2026.

For those who have registered for the gift by Mar. 15, the gift will be distributed at “Celebrating Our Families” community events in April and May 2025, organised by the People's Association.

Parents who are keen to attend the event can indicate their interest when registering for the gift, and will be subsequently provided with collection details.

If you are unable to attend the community events, or register for the SG60 Baby Gift after Mar. 15, 2025, you can opt for home delivery.

Home delivery will start from mid-May 2025.
