Man, 34, arrested for allegedly snatching S$1,800 iPhone from woman, 28, along River Valley Close

The police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On Feb. 24, 2025 at about 4.15am, the police were alerted to a case of snatch theft along River Valley Close.

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly accosted by an unknown man who snatched the victim’s handphone and ran away.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV and police cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within the same day.

The stolen handphone, valued at S$1,800, was subsequently recovered.

The man will be charged in court on Feb. 27, 2025 with the offence of snatch theft, under Section 356 of the Penal Code.

The offence carries a prison term of not less than one year and not more than seven years.
