Massive jam due to SLE accident: 5 people sent to hospital, car, van, tipper truck, motorcycle & lorry involved

An accident involving five vehicles — a tipper truck, a van, a motorcycle, a lorry and a car — occurred at 9:45am on Jan. 24, 2025, along Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards Bukit Timah (BKE), resulting in a massive jam.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said a total of five people were conveyed to the hospital.

They were a 29-year-old male motorcyclist, a 65-year-old male car driver, a 62-year-old male van driver and two passengers from the lorry, aged 41 and 49.

All of them were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Lorry driver had to be extricated with hydraulic equipment

Photos circulating on social media showed a massive traffic jam and several damaged vehicles on the expressway, as well as a few ambulances and SCDF vehicles at the scene in the aftermath of the crash.

All five lanes appeared blocked at one point.

The SCDF added that when they arrived at the scene, a person was found trapped at the driver's seat of the lorry.

SCDF rescued the person using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
