Fire engine & trailer collide head on: 4 SCDF officers sent to hospital
One had to be rescued using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Four Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers were taken to hospital after the fire engine they were in collided head-on with a trailer in Sungei Kadut on Jan. 23.
Police and SCDF told Mothership that the accident took place at about 1:45pm along Sungei Kadut Street 1.
Sungei Kadut is an industrial area in the northwest of Singapore.
Police said the accident involved an SCDF vehicle, a lorry and a prime mover.
Four male SCDF officers, aged between 21 and 28, were conveyed conscious to hospital.
Accident on the way to fire post
SCDF said that the fire engine, which had a four-person crew, had attended to a fire incident in the area, which turned out to be a false alarm.
It was returning to Sungei Kadut fire post when the accident happened.
A video of the aftermath was posted to Facebook the same day.

It showed a SCDF fire engine and a brown trailer in the aftermath of a head-on collision.
Both vehicles appeared to be damaged from the impact.

Two ambulances and two other fire engines were at the scene, which was cordoned off with traffic cones.
Four SCDF officers sent to hospital
SCDF said an SCDF officer, seated in the front cabin of the fire engine, had to be released using hydraulic rescue equipment.
The officer was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) along with another officer.
Two other SCDF officers were conveyed to Woodlands Health Campus.
All four officers were conscious and alert when conveyed to the hospitals, and they have been warded for observation.
Police investigations are ongoing.
