Cat in China jumps on laptop, sends out draft resignation letter, owner loses job & bonus
The woman was apparently hesitating over her resignation as she needed the money to rescue cats.

A woman in Chongqing, China, who was hesitating over handing in her resignation letter, ended up having her cat make the decision on her behalf — by accident.
Footage provided by the woman to mainland Chinese media showed the cat leaping over the laptop's screen onto the keyboard.
This was when the email in draft was supposedly sent out by accident, on Jan. 5, 2025.
Lost her year-end bonus as a result
The woman claimed that when she reached out to her employer afterwards to explain the situation, she was ignored.
As a result, she reportedly lost both her job and her year-end bonus.
Malaysian media Oriental Daily quoted the woman as saying that she had written her resignation letter some time back but sat on it.
She had hesitated on sending out the letter as she had been rescuing stray cats and incurring high expenses from buying their food.
Many mainland Chinese commenters have reacted to the news by joking about how the cat made the decision on behalf of its owner, as well as how the cat has accidentally cut off its own source of food.
The cat that jumped on the laptop was apparently one of the rescued cats.
