Car catches fire along road in Jurong West, no injuries reported
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A car caught fire along Jurong West Street 51 on the morning of Mar. 5.
A video uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page showed a white car with its trunk open, engulfed in flames.

In response to Mothership's queries, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at about 7:20am on Wednesday (Mar. 5) and extinguished the fire using a hosereel.
It said the fire involved the engine compartment of the car.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Rise in the number of vehicle fires in 2024
There was a rise in the number of vehicle fires in 2024, according to statistics released by the SCDF.
According to the statistics, vehicle fires formed the largest component of fires at non-building premises.
SCDF responded to 220 such fires in 2024, up from 215 in 2023.
A recent incident involving a vehicle fire along Nicoll Highway on Sunday (Mar. 2) claimed the life of 37-year-old Jeffrey Loh Chong Hao, a director of Chee Song (CS) food.
A video of the incident shows a blue Porsche car crashing into a road barrier and bursting into flames.
