The Singapore police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means.

The police received a call for assistance at Yishun Ring Road on Aug. 2, 2026 at about 7pm.

Officers established that the man had a prior dispute with the 14-year-old teenager earlier that day.

The incident involved the man’s power-assisted bicycle and the teenager’s e-scooter, which resulted in damage to the man’s personal property.

During the dispute, the man used a pair of pliers on the teenager, causing superficial injuries.

The pliers were seized as a case exhibit.

The man will be charged in court on Aug. 4 with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means, which carries a jail term of up to seven years, with caning or fine or both.

The police said that they take a serious view of such acts of violence in the community and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
