Man, 25, to be charged in court with murder of 29-year-old man in Tuas South

Preliminary investigations showed that the two men knew each other.

A 25-year-old man will be charged in court on Aug. 31 for his suspected involvement in the murder of a 29-year-old man.

In a news release on Aug. 30, the police said the man will be charged with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871.

The police said they received a call for assistance along Tuas South Street 15 towards Tuas South Avenue 14 at about 10:10pm on Aug. 29.

Upon arrival, officers found the 29-year-old man lying motionless on the road.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic.

The 25-year-old man was later arrested within four hours, police said.

Preliminary investigations found that the two men were known to each other.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of murder carries the death penalty.
