A recent case of a scooter rider in China allegedly striking a visually-impaired woman who was on the pedestrian path has taken a shocking turn.

In the video, the woman was walking along the pathway when the scooter rushed towards her. She was walking on tactile paving.

After hitting the woman, the male rider stopped, turned around and berated her, asking if she was looking at where she was walking.

This occurred while he was still on the pedestrian pathway.

Her walking stick was flung on the ground due to the accident. She was then seen feeling around on the ground to retrieve it.

The woman said she suffered a hand injury after the accident but has since recovered.

According to media reports, authorities were still investigating the situation.

It turns out the entire thing was apparently staged.

The police said the two were in cahoots.

According to them, 26-year-old Liu and 24-year-old Jiang (the woman), in order to attract followers and profit, staged the aforementioned video.

Both have been arrested and placed under criminal coercive measures by the public security authorities.
