A 34-year-old man was sentenced to six months and two weeks' jail on May 26 for breaking into a woman's home and molesting a 10-year-old boy at Sentosa.
Kenneth Teo Bo Jun faced two charges, including one count of criminal trespass and one count of outrage of modesty.
First incident: Break-in
According to 8world, the first incident took place in the morning of Nov. 17, 2025.
A 27-year-old woman, who was working in her living room, discovered Teo had unlocked the gate on her balcony and entered her home uninvited.
When she confronted him, Teo ignored her and left.
The woman later locked the balcony door and went to take a shower.
About half an hour later, she suspected he had returned and upon checking the balcony, she found Teo standing outside, shining a flashlight into her living room.
The woman quickly woke her father, who scolded Teo.
Teo then apologised and fled, but was later caught and detained by security guards and residents within the residential building.
Investigations revealed that Teo had entered the residence with the intent to harass the female occupant, and nothing was stolen.
Second incident: Molestation at Sentosa
In a separate incident around noon on Jan. 17, 2026, Teo entered a public restroom near Tanjong Beach Club in Sentosa, where a 10-year-old British boy was showering and changing, 8world reported.
Teo was said to have found the boy "attractive" and had the intent to sexually assault him.
He approached the boy and asked if they could shower together.
The boy mistakenly thought that Teo merely wanted to use the same area, and agreed.
According to the charge sheet seen by Mothership, Teo had used criminal force on the boy, holding his right shoulder and right wrist, and telling him to follow him.
The boy broke free and fled, during which Teo also touched his thigh.
The boy's mother subsequently entered the restroom and, with the help of a cleaner, stopped Teo.
Court documents revealed that Teo admitted during investigations that he had originally intended to molest the boy, and said that had the boy and his brother agreed to leave with him, he would have sexually assaulted them.
Psychiatric assessment
According to 8world, two forensic psychiatric reports from the Institute of Mental Health noted that Teo had consumed methamphetamine prior to the offences and exhibited drug-induced psychiatric symptoms.
However, both reports concluded that Teo was not of unsound mind.
He remained fully aware that his actions were wrong and was found fit to stand trial.
Sentencing
The prosecution initially sought a sentence of two to three weeks' imprisonment for the criminal trespass charge and five to six months for the molestation charge, taking Teo's guilty plea into account.
Teo was ultimately sentenced to a total of six months and two weeks' jail.
