Veteran Taiwanese Hokkien singer Chris Hung, 62, and his 51-year-old wife, Zhang Jing Yun, have been living separately after eight years of marriage.

Hung is the singer of the Hokkien favourite, "A Small Umbrella".

Rumours of Hung's marriage being on shaky ground emerged around September 2025.

Living life apart

According to TVBS, Hung recently confirmed that the pair are no longer living together.

Zhang, who is a singer herself, was absent from Hung's side when he underwent prostate surgery and during his concerts in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

On May 24, both Hung and Zhang made posts that hinted at their current lifestyles.

In her post, Zhang reflected on life, writing, "Life doesn't stay in the lows forever. All the twists and turns, all the unfairness, might become a source of illumination in the future."

Hung, on the other hand, posted a photo of himself at a restaurant, having a meal.

He wrote, "All along, I've been conscious about eating well, for health reasons and to make sure I'll be in a good state for my upcoming concerts."

Hung is slated to perform two concerts in Taipei in July 2026.

Previously denied that things were awry

Hung had earlier shared that he and Zhang were no longer living together, but explained that Zhang returned to Kaohsiung to look after her ailing mother, TVBS wrote.

Zhang has not commented publicly on the state of their marriage.

Hung also admitted at one point that something did happen between him and his wife.

However, he denied that there was an issue with their marriage and stressed that things were going swimmingly.

Hung and Zhang got married in 2017 after a whirlwind courtship.

This is Hung's third marriage.
